`Papendal' is close to Arnhem (8km). It is situated beautifully in the vast forests of the province Gelderland. Papendal offers a wide range of both indoor and outdoor sports facilities, including swimming pools, tennis courts, golf course, and fitness room.

To reach the conference by airplain or train

Arnhem can be reached by train from the airport of Schiphol, Amsterdam (1h22, twice an hour) or Düsseldorf (1h13, every two hours).

From Amsterdam Schiphol airport: railway station is at the airport. Take the train heading for Hilversum (x.02) or Lelystad (x.32). Change trains at Duivendrecht, take stairs to other platform. Take the Intercity train to Utrecht, Arnhem. Train costs Dfl 25 one way.

From Düsseldorf airport: take city transportation to Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof. From there take direct Eurocity train heading for Amsterdam and leave at Arnhem.

In Arnhem, the best way to reach the conference centre `Papendal' is to buy a `train taxi ticket' at the railway station (Dfl 6 per person, you can buy this at Schiphol with your train ticket), and take a taxi designated as `train taxi' (=cheap group taxi). Other taxis cost around Dfl 25 per trip.

A harder way is to go by bus: buy a `strip ticket' (Dfl 11, valid for 5 bus rides) at the railway station, leave the station at the side exit and take the yellow VAD bus direction Lelystad (leaves x.13, x=7...23 and x.43, x=6...8,14...17), leave at stop `West-end'.

To reach the conference by car

From Utrecht, Amsterdam, The Hague:

Take motorway A12/E35 to Arnhem, Take exit Oosterbeek-Wolfsheze-Arnhem Centrum-Hoge Veluwe. Take the N224 direction Arnhem (right) until exit Papendal.

From Rotterdam, Breda:

Take motorway A15/E35 direction Nijmegen. At the junction Valbug take exit Apeldoorn-Doetinchem to the A50 motorway. At the junction Grijsoord take exit Utrecht-Den Haag, A12/E35 west. Immediately take the exit Oosterbeek-Wolfheze-Ede Oost. Take N224 direction Arnhem (left) until exit Papendal.

From Apeldoorn:

Take motorway A50 direction Arnhem. At junction Waterberg take exit Utrecht-Nijmegen-Den Bosch. Take motorway A12/E35 direction Utrecht-Den Haag. Take exit Oosterbeek-Wolfheze-Ede Oost. Take N224 direction Arnhem (left) until exit Papendal.

From Den Bosch, Eindhoven:

Take motorway A50 direction Apeldoorn-Zwolle-Utrecht. At the junction Valbug continue on the A50 direction Utrecht. At the junction Grijsoord take exit Utrecht-Den Haag, A12/E35 west. Immediately take the exit Oosterbeek-Wolfheze-Ede Oost. Take N224 direction Arnhem (left) until exit Papendal.

From Köln, Venlo:

Take motorway A73/E31 direction Rotterdam. Leave the A73 at the exit Rotterdam-Arnhem. Continue on the A50 and follow the directions from Den Bosch, Eindhoven above.

From Oberhausen:

Take motorway A12/E35 direction Utrecht-Den Haag. Take exit Oosterbeek-Wolfheze-Ede Oost. Take N224 direction Arnhem (left) until exit Papendal.
