Thanks for the pointer. Before uploading the files to CTAN I'd like to
check them more rigorously because I corrected only such errors that
caused trouble for me -- which unfortunately are only a subsection of
all errors.

Probably the worst cause of trouble were a number of Greek letters in
uni2greek where the mapping was plainly wrong and a large number of
Latin letters with diacritics in the italic font which were simply
mapped to the base letter with no diacritic so that you wouldn't even
get an error message in the log file.
