Please help me!

If I run aleph i get the error message:

! Aleph capacity exceeded, sorry [parameter stack size=600].

In the file texmf.cnf:

param_size = 5000

I changed this to 50000 (and updated with: texconfig -init), but the error message is the same as above.

                                    Thank you, Thomas

----------

The context of the error is: I need footnotes in Syriac-RL-text which run from left to right and are in German.
So I tried to overwrite the definition of footnotes in the manyfoot.sty package (ncctools):

\newfootnote{A}
\newcommand{\FootnotetextASyr}[1]{\popocplist\FootnotetextA{}{#1}{pushocplist}
\newcounter{footnoteA}
\newcommand{\footnoteA[1]{%
\stepcounter{\footnoteA}
\Footnotemark\thefootnoteA
\FootnotetextAsyr{#}}

...

... mw\footnoteA{\textit{Or.} 13, Tit.}SUPFS

I don't know if this is correct ...

The whole error message is:

! Aleph capacity exceeded, sorry [parameter stack size=600].
\footnoteA #1 ->
                       \stepcounter {\footnoteA}\footnotemark}\thefootnoteA \Footno...
1.24 mw\footnoteA{\textit{Or.} 13, Tit.}
                                                       SUPFS
