i learned that tetex (used in gwtex) does not longer distribute those metrics, 
which is disturbing because their tfm metrics *do* differ from their adobe 
counterpart, and simply mapping the the u* onto the p* files gives different 
results; anyhow,  you may try:

   \usetypescript[adobekb][\defaultencoding]
