I just realized you can cheat just a little:
\hsize=575cm
\advance \hsize \hsize
\message{\the\hsize} % reports 32720.66928pt ~ 11.5m

DVI maybe, but my Acrobat Reader 7 silently drops the bottom off pages
that are higher than 200in (508cm).
