I must not be doing it right because the item numbers are gone now and
replaced with hyphens:

    \startitemize[R,2*broad,before=\startlinecorrection,after=
\stoplinecorrection,start=11]
    \setupitemize[left=(, right=)]
    \item foo.
    \item foo.
    \stopitemize
