Works fine in a single file, but as soon as I try using it in a
project environment, it hangs..

A minimal environment test file:
\startenvironment env_ms_blackletter

\definetypeface[mainface][rm][specserif]  [Lucida Blackletter
OT][default][features=default]

\setupbodyfont[mainface]

\stopenvironment



And this is what it hangs onto:
